Travel projects abroad

Creative. Flexible. Individually tailored.

What's special about this form of individualized education is that the travel projects are completely tailored to the needs of the young people. After intensively accompanying seven young people on their journey into a new phase of life, I have developed a proven basic structure for my travel projects based on experience, reflection, and practice.

All projects have one thing in common: the journey lasts 90 days.
We stay wherever the young person feels comfortable, can find peace, or thrive. The focus is on exercise, daily outdoor activities, nature experiences, adventures, and creative and craft-based work with genuine self-discovery.

A special element: Each young person creates a personal travel magazine during the trip – for self-reflection and as a lasting memory.

All projects are individually planned and continuously adapted as needed – in terms of content, structure, and emotional aspects. A psychological counselor is available at all times. And: If the young person finds a new home at the end of the journey, I, as an educator, can actively participate in the acclimatization process – if this is desired or necessary.

The projects are divided into three phases:

Ireland and the "wild atlantic way"

The inclusion of Ireland's diverse landscape of sea and mountains offers every opportunity to experience traditional Irish life.

Greece

Help with olive picking, get to know the traditional life in the villages and reflect on the original.

Hikes

Travel projects can also be designed as a transition phase to ensure a gentle transition into a new living environment.
The future destination is reached via various hiking routes – step by step, at your own pace. Depending on the season, different countries are suitable for this. France, Spain, and Portugal have proven particularly successful.

...and much more

We're also happy to develop a completely new travel project in collaboration with all involved. Here, too, creativity knows no bounds and should meet the needs of the young person.

Time-Out Projects

Sometimes you just need a short break – for the young person and those around them.
This is precisely what the four- to six-week time-out phase is designed for. Together with the young person, a setting suitable for everyday life is developed that facilitates new experiences and provides a sustainable structure – something that, ideally, can be integrated into their future life.

The prerequisite for this project is that a return to the previous environment is planned or that a new follow-up measure has already been approved or is concretely in prospect.

However, my experience shows that even in this short time it often becomes clear that a change in the current setting may be necessary or useful.
